What kinds of questions are best suited for IM Reference?

  • When you need a specific piece of information (i.e. What happened on November 22, 1963?)
  • When you need suggestions for appropriate electronic or paper resources
  • For assistance in the use of electronic resources

If in depth reference questions or detailed research is needed it is best to meet person-to-person with a librarian. You can schedule an appointment with a librarian or send the an email to a subject specialist librarian.  Or just stop by the Information Desk!

In order to evaluate the service we may examine the content of IM transactions. This information will be used ANONYMOUSLY.  All identifying information will be removed from the message before we perform transcript evaluations.
