About the Donation
The Undergraduate Student Government initiated the
"Classics of Cinematography" program in 2003, which has purchased and donated
hundreds DVDs to Mullen Library. According to its president,
Ryan Robichaux, USG hopes "to continue to add one hundred DVDs each
semester for the years to come" [The
Tower Online]. The selection of titles is based on the American
Film Institute's list of the top one hundred movies of all time.
Because Mullen already owned some AFI top films on DVD, the USG donated
additional titles not on the AFI list.
You can now search the WRLC
Libraries Catalog for DVD titles. To request and check out one of
these movies, visit the Circulation Desk on the first floor. CUA
students, staff, and faculty with valid IDs may borrow DVDs donated by
USG overnight.

How to Find Movies at CUA Libraries
In the WRLC Libraries Catalog, type "feature films" in the search box
(Be sure to use the quotation marks!), choose "keyword," limit the
location to Catholic, and click "Search." The catalog should retrieve
all movies located in any CUA campus library, and will indicate either
CU: Central Reserve: Two Hour or CU: Central Reserve
Audiovisual (both at the Mullen Circulation Desk), or will specify
another campus library location.
For quick reference, try browsing the list of DVDs in Mullen, which covers the DVDs donated by USG and purchased by the University Libraries. Mullen owns many more movie titles in other formats, which you may browse by setting limits when you search the catalog.
