The Adele R. Chwalek Reading Room on the first floor features several tables and comfortable chairs for studying and research.

The room is named for Adele R. Chwalek who served as Director of Libraries from 1987 until 2005. Chwalek received her Master of Science in Library Science from the Catholic University of America in 1972 and began working in Mullen Library in 1976.
