CUA Media Share Guidelines
The Media Share program serves to support the educational missions of the WRLC member universities by facilitating access to non-print library holdings.
- Faculty (and faculty associate) of The Catholic University of America may request video and DVD holdings available at other WRLC libraries. These items may be used for educational, class-related purposes only. Public performance is not permitted. All copyright restrictions must be observed.
Only faculty (and faculty associate) requests will be honored. All other interested users should contact the owning library to view a title on site.
- The patron is financially liable for replacing materials lost or damaged during the loan period.
- Fines will be assessed for overdue items, accruing at a rate of $1.00 per day.
- The lending university reserves the right to prohibit the loan of certain materials for legitimate reasons, such as heavy use by the home institution, licensing restrictions, or unusual fragility of the materials.
- The loan period for Media Share materials is one week.
- Faculty (and faculty associate) members must request Media Share items at least one week prior to the earliest scheduled use date. Rush requests will not be processed.
- No renewals are allowed before an item is returned to the lending library.
- Faculty (and faculty associate) members may request a specific title only once per semester. An exception may be considered for previewing purposes.
- Faculty (and faculty associate) members may not borrow more than ten Media Share items per semester.
- Questions and all Media Share requests should be made by emailing the Media Share Coordinator with the following information: Title, Call number, lending library, and date(s) needed for viewing. The current Media Share Coordinator is:
David Rice
riced@cua.edu
x5062
- Faculty (and faculty associate) may not borrow Media Share items directly from the owning library. All requests must be made through CUA's Media Share Coordinator.
