The Washington Research Library Consortium enables CUA students, staff, and faculty with current library privileges to borrow items from other libraries in the consortium. The Consortium Loan Service handles all such requests, though patrons may also borrow in-person from member libraries.
Fines and Fees
When CUA patrons request items through the Consortium Loan Service or in person at a WRLC library, the loan periods generally will follow these guidelines:
- Four weeks for undergraduate students and staff.
- Six weeks for graduate students.
- Up to four months for faculty, using three fixed due dates per year (1/31, 5/31, 9/30).
CUA patrons may check out CUA items for the following loan periods:
- Four weeks for undergraduate.
- One semester for graduates.
- One year for faculty.
In all cases, each item borrowed from a WRLC library may be renewed twice.
To renew WRLC items in person, visit the Circulation Desk at any campus library. To renew online, go to your myALADIN account.
WRLC lost book fines and fees are determined by the cost of replacing and processing lost items. For each lost item, the following charges will be assessed:
$57 item replacement fee
$30 processing fee
$10 maximum overdue fine
Overdue fines for WRLC items are the same as fines for CUA items. See CUA Circulation Loan Periods and Fine Policies for details.
