Books

  • Books (monographs) are arranged by call number in the Stacks.
  • Many books in the stacks are on reserve and have loan periods of two hours or 7 days.
  • All other materials in the stacks have the following loan periods for CUA patrons:

Reserve Materials

  • Most reserve materials are filed in the stacks under their call number. To find out what materials are on reserve for a particular class, check the WRLC Libraries Catalog reserve section or ask a staff member for a reserve list.
  • Most are two-hour loans; most may go out over night if you check them out one hour before the library closes and return them within one hour of the library opening the following day.
  • Many readings are available on electronic reserves: your professor will provide instructions to use this feature.
  • Professors' personal copies are located behind the circulation desk: please ask a staff member. These cannot be removed from the library.

Reference Materials

  • In ALADIN, these books are listed as Ref Non-circ.

  • Bound Journals are arranged alphabetically by title. Engineering, Architecture, and Math bound journals are interfiled with one another. Many journals have changed names over the years: check the Architecture Periodicals lists located by the computers or ask a staff member to find out what name each journal is shelved under.
  • To find Electronic Journals, search the Electronic Journal Title Finder on the Library website.

  • Items with the location Eng/Arch/Math Indexes/Abstracts are shelved in the Reading Room.

Theses
