 Humanities Collections

The Humanities reference collection in the following subjects is located on the first floor of John K. Mullen of Denver Memorial Library: Drama and Theater, English, Media Studies, and Modern Languages. For journals, most current issues can be found with the bound volumes in Rooms 1 North and 1 Center of the Mullen Library stacks. Consult the CU's e-Journals for electronic issues and the WRLC Library catalog for complete print listings.

The Humanities collection consists of reference tools (bibliographies, dictionaries, directories, encyclopedias, guides, handbooks, indexes) particularly useful to students and faculty in the departments and programs served by the above subjects. Included are bibliographies, companions, and concordances for Dante and Shakespeare (such works for other authors are shelved by those authors' classifications in the Mullen stacks).  You may use the Research Advisory Tool to search and peruse annotations of slect reference material.

At the present time the library provides remote access to a wide range of databases through libraries' websitefor CUA faculty and students. Your CUA Cardinal card number is required for login. Non-CUA guests must access the databases within the library.

Reserves may be identified and located in the WRLC library catalog by course, by instructor, by author, and by title. Reserves are shelved at Central Reserves behind the Mullen Circulation desk. See Course Reserves for full details.

CUA faculty and students may use Consortium Loan Service and Interlibrary Loan for material not owned by the library. Follow the instructions on each page for prompt service.

CUA Libraries has Media Collections with a growing list of films and documentaries.
