Tile.Net/Lists (Discussion and Information Lists)
Discussion lists (sometimes known as listservs) are electronically-facilitated discussion forums of participants who share a common interest. You can e-mail a question or response to the forum and the list re-transmits your posting to all subscribers. To find discussion lists in education, type 'education' in the text box. A good complement to Tile.Net is ERIC Listservs.

Education Commission of the States (ECS)
Designed to help identify, develop and implement public policies to improve student learning at all levels. The nation's most extensive website devoted to education policy, designed to help find out what states are doing, what research is being done, and where to go for more information.

The ERIC System Homepage
ERIC is an acronym for the Educational Resources Information Center, a project of the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Educational Research and Improvement. In its thirty-year history, ERIC has compiled an internationally recognized database of scholarly- and practically-oriented education documents, including multiple award-winning Internet sites. Excellent resource for all federally-sponsored, education-related projects, services, and products, e.g., the excellent data reports and analyses of the National Center for Educational Statistics, and The Regional Educational Laboratories, the Department of Education's largest research and development effort for educational improvement. Electronic Journals and Full-Text Archives

The ALADIN system offers a number of databases which feature full text. Periodical Abstracts, Project Muse, Electronic Collections Online, and Lexis/Nexis Academic Universe all cover journals in education. Remote access to these databases is limited to CUA students, faculty, and staff.

Education Policy Analysis Archives
A peer-reviewed electronic journal published by Arizona State University, covering education policy on "any level of the education system in any nation."

International Education Resources

Intercultural E-Mail Classroom Connections
The IECC (Intercultural E-Mail Classroom Connections) mailing lists are provided by St. Olaf College as a free service to help teachers and classes link with partners in other countries and cultures for e-mail classroom pen-pal and project exchanges. (From the site's introduction.) The site describes discussion lists that are divided by educational level or project need and offers a searchable archive of previous postings.

Library of Congress' Country Studies/Area Handbooks
A continuing series of books prepared by the Federal Research Division of the Library of Congress under the Country Studies/Area Handbook Program sponsored by the Department of the Army. Most books in the series deal with a particular foreign country, describing and analyzing its political, economic, social, and national security systems and institutions, and examining the interrelationships of those systems and the ways they are shaped by cultural factors.
