About three-fourths of the collection is devoted to nursing and supporting disciplines and one-fourth is in the biological sciences.

The collection consists of journals, monographs, dissertations and audiovisual materials, including slides and video cassettes.

The library subscribes to over 400 print and electronic journals, which include most of those nursing journals published in the English language as well as selected medical and biological journals.

The Nursing/Biology Library also houses The Mary Walsh Historical Reading Room, a collection of seminal nursing works and standard nursing textbooks from the 1860’s on.

Washington Research Libraries Consortium

CUA is a member of the Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC),which includes eight university libraries in the D.C. metro area. As a CUA student, you have borrowing privileges at each of these libraries. You may initiate a Consortium Loan Request directly from the WRLC Libraries Catalog to have available materials sent or scanned for you. Students usually receive materials in one to three days.
