Using the Collections

The Catholic University of America is located at 620 Michigan Avenue N.E., Washington, D.C. 20064. The Rare Books and Special Collections Department is in Room 214 of the John K. Mullen of Denver Memorial Library. The telephone number is 202-319-5091.

Material in the department is accessible through a variety of sources. Catalogued items are listed in the online catalog of the Washington Research Library Consortium, ALADIN, or in the main card catalogue of the university library. An online database describing the American Catholic Pamphlets and Parish Histories collection is available. Many of the special collections have a card catalogue, an in-house database, or a list of contents in the department. These are indicated in the description of each collection.

The department is open to all CUA and WRLC students, faculty and staff, as well as to visiting scholars. Regular hours of service are 10 AM-5 PM, Monday - Friday. Other hours may be arranged by appointment.
