Maria Mazzenga has served as Education Archivist at the American Catholic History Research Center and University Archives since 2005. After graduating with a Ph.D. in history from Catholic University in 2000, she taught U.S. history at Virginia Commonwealth University, George Mason University, and Catholic University and worked as Program Manager at National History Day at the University of Maryland. She is the author of several articles on youth culture, the U.S. home front during the Second World War, education and American Catholicism. She recently edited the volume The Sound of Breaking Glass: U.S. Organized Religious Responses to the Nazis in the 1930s (forthcoming) and is working on a book on the city of Baltimore during World War Two. Her current research is on American Catholic responses to the Holocaust.
